-- Iran’s 10-month export of mining, minerals tops $11b: IMIDRO
The Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) said the export value of the mining and mineral products in the country in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2023) topped $11 billion.
More than $11.1 billion of mining and mineral products were exported from the country between March 21, 2023, and January 22, 2024, registering a 10% hike compared to last year’s corresponding period.
-- Tehran, Yerevan to cooperate in construction of Nurduz-Agarak Bridge
The chief executive of the Iranian Company for Construction and Development of Transport Infrastructure (CDTIC) said that Iran and Armenia will cooperate in constructing the Nurduz-Agarak Bridge.
Kheirollah Khademi made the comments in a meeting with the deputy minister of infrastructures and digital development of the Republic of Armenia at the 18th Iran-Armenia Joint Economic Cooperation Commission.

Global oil demand growth is losing momentum, the International Energy Agency (IEA) said on as it trimmed its 2024 growth forecast, in sharp contrast to the view held by producer group OPEC.
The IEA, which represents industrialised countries, has predicted that oil demand will peak by 2030 as the world shifts to cleaner energy. OPEC, meanwhile, expects oil use to keep rising for the next two decades.

Addressing a conference here, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh said Iran’s maritime development should continue incessantly.

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, known as IMIDRO, says mines and metals companies controlled by it exported more than $11 billion worth of products in the 10 months to January 20 this year.
The value of exports in the field of mines and mining industry stood at $11.103 billion in the first 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year, an increase of 10% year on year, according to IMIDRO figures cited in a Sunday IRNA.

-- Aghaei takes Iran’s second gold at 2024 Asian Indoor Athletic Championships
Sajad Aghaei of Iran took a gold medal in the men’s 400 meters of the 11th edition of the Asian Indoor Athletic Championships on Sunday.
He crossed the line with a time of 47.95, followed by Bangladesh’s Mohammad Jahir Rayhan and Iraqi runner Yasir Ali Al-saadi. The 2024 Asian Indoor Athletic Championships are being held from Feb. 17 to 19 in Tehran, capital of Tehran.
-- Trade between Iran, EU exceeds €4.7b in 2023
The value of trade between Iran and the European Union (EU)’s member states reached €4.732 billion in 2023, according to the data released by the European Union's statistics office Eurostat.
Based on the Eurostat data, the trade between the two sides fell nine percent in 2023 in comparison to the preceding year when the figure stood at €5.244 billion. As reported, the EU’s exports to Iran from January to December 2023 stood at €3.993 billion, registering a decrease of six percent compared to the same period of 2022 when the EU’s exports to Iran were reported to be €4.187 billion.
-- Tehran, Moscow planning to mutually recognize higher education degrees
Iran and Russia are about to reach an agreement on mutually recognizing higher education degrees, Hadi Goudarzi, the counselor of the Iranian Embassy in the Russian Federation, has said.
Once the agreement is finalized, the governments of the two countries are expected to sign a document, TASS reported. The document will cover the recognition of bachelor's, master's, postgraduate and doctoral diplomas.
